Artist - Sandy Cleeland

Sandy Cleeland

Originally for Melbourne, Sandy always had a passion for taking photos. This grew as her adventures grew and as she sailed up the east coast from Melbourne to the Whitsundays 25 years ago, Sandy became more and more apt at her photography.

Once Sandy became a Whitsunday Resident, a second passion took over her life and that was caring for the local wildlife, at the moment she is looking after our local endangered Proserpine Rock Wallaby among other animals. ‘I have been caring for animals for the past 15 years and absolutely love it! I feel it is a privilege to look after these wonderful little creatures” said Sandy.

She has always dabbled in painting too although photography is my main Artistic forte, I even went to night school for a while so I could learn how to improve my skills.

Now, my photography and my animal rescue life gives me a satisfaction that keeps me grounded. I love helping and I love capturing nature so I have the best of both worlds.” said Sandy
