Artist - Linda Forrester
I love using my fingers to create with, getting messy is part of the fun. Pastels, water-colour and clay are my favourite mediums and each one brings its own style but overall I tend to be meticulous and precise. Even though the end result can be satisfying, it is the journey and being absorbed in the creative process that gives me the most pleasure. I begin a piece by finding inspiration from nature, my surroundings, family or the medium itself. When my work is going well I am filled with a sense of satisfaction and contentment, I'm in my happy place. When people see my work I would like them to enjoy it and be blessed by it. There is no better feeling than an art work going to a new home, an honour to become a part of their personal surroundings. Teaching small hands to enjoy the experience of creating is something I really love. Seeing the proud expression on the face of a student when they have finished an artwork or learnt new skills is very satisfying. Even though I have been drawing and painting most of my life, being creative is still an experience that gives me an escape from the mundane, heightens positive emotions and a feeling of peace. Something everyone should experience.
