A visual journal or ‘artistic diary’, emphasizing visuals for communication, is a personal space for a collection of your feelings, thoughts and ideas where you create, explore and meditate. A visual journal can also be a place to document your art making process of research, development and resolution for an artwork. You will gain experience in both visual journal purposes during this workshop.
With emphasis on practising therapeutic art skills for well-being, you will learn and apply CBT skills to create affirmation and gratitude cards, along with how to make original visual journal pages, using inspirational techniques and special effects adapted to your individual journalling needs, as you combine various art media.
Visual Journal documentation of your creative journey for one of your planned original artworks will have you engaging in the key stages of recording the practical steps followed by you as an artist. These include finding inspiration, researching, exploration, media choices, experimentation, decision making, discarding, composition choices, problem solving, development, finalisation and refining. Such documentation can prove very beneficial to you as an artist in the future.
